THE PHOTOGRAPHIC COLLECTION OF THE NUBAR LIBRARY

The Nubar Library retains a large and diverse collection of photographs that continues to be enriched through private donations year after year.

The core of the photographic collection comprises more than 10,000 photographs produced from the 1890s to the 1940s. These range from images classified by geographical provenance, many from Ottoman provinces, to extensive collections of individual and group portraiture. A large body of photographic prints illustrates the history and activities of the AGBU in the Near East and elsewhere in the Armenian diaspora after the First World War and the early 20th century.
